What is the module about?
As you progress to more senior roles in your school or educational institution there is a need to develop your skills and knowledge in the area of leadership and management. In this module you will focus on the principles of leadership and management, and the challenges facing those people tasked with these roles.
You will
- Understand and appraise the applicability of basic concepts of organisational theory to educational institutions
- Appreciate the influence of structures, cultures and decision-making processes on organisations
- Evaluate the main theories of management and the role of the leader and manager in the processes of organisational change and development
- Critically assess major emerging issues for management and governance of educational institutions

What is the outcome of this module?
This module is worth 15 CATs at Level 7 (Master’s Level). These credits can be used as recognition of prior learning (RPL) on the full MSc Online programme at University of Southampton. They can also be aggregated alongside other ERPN credit bearing modules to create a PG Cert (60 CATs) or a PG Dip (120 CATs)
What is the cost of this module?
