Short Course: Developing Criticality and Reflective Practice

What is the Short Course about?

This short Course is designed to equip teachers to engage critically with key pedagogical theories and evidence from research. It supports teachers to be reflective practitioners and to use evidence to underpin their practice. This course explores:

  • Models and frameworks for reflective practice
  • Using evidence to support teacher reflections
  • Understanding critical engagement and applying this to research evidence in practice

This is a practical course which blends in-person delivery with ‘application in context’ activities for teachers to engage with in their specific school context.  

When does the Short Course run?

The duration of this course is 6 hours. This course has flexible delivery times and can be tailored to your CPD calendar.

What is the outcome of this Short Course?

This short Course is a non-credit bearing CPD course and you will receive a certificate of completion from the University of Southampton.

How many people can do this course?

A maximum of 40 people can do this in person at one time.

What is the cost of this Short Course?

Costs will vary according to whether the course runs in person or if there is any bespoke tailoring to your context. We offer discounts for Southampton City Schools who fall within our Civic University remit and are happy to explore group rates for combinations of schools
