What is the Short Course about?

This Short Course explores education research and how it is generated. This course will examine the ever-increasing appetite for teacher consumption of research and the challenges this creates in ensuring teachers are presented with rigorous and diverse research outcomes.

It will support teachers in knowing how to access, understand and critique research so that they can apply research findings to their classroom and school practice.

This course flows naturally into the Short Course: Becoming a Researching Practitioner and these two modules would be an excellent choice for schools and teachers looking to strengthen their research informed practice.

The duration of this short course is 6 hours. This course has flexible delivery times and can be tailored to your CPD calendar.

What is the outcome of this Short Course?

This short Course is a non-credit bearing CPD course and you will receive a certificate of completion from the University of Southampton

What is the cost of this Short Course?

Costs will vary according to whether the course runs in person or if there is any bespoke tailoring to your context. We offer discounts for Southampton City Schools who fall within our Civic University remit and are happy to explore group rates for combinations of schools
